J316 Ministries was founded by Butch & Becky Morley, our church members! They do a fantastic job of creatively sharing the gospel through colors on various sports equipment such as soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs, etc. J316 Ministries has a strong presence in Florida as well as in several countries across the globe.
Our church partners with J316 Ministries to run soccer clinics at the church for kids who don’t have a church background. We have also been able to use these soccer clinics and the opportunity they bring to share the gospel on several mission trips, including in Guatemala, Belize, and Romania. We are grateful to serve alongside J316 Ministries and would love to share more about their work!
J316 Ministries has designed and uses a J316 soccer ball, basketball, and volleyball to share the gospel with kids worldwide. J316 Ministries and other ministries use these resources as helpful tools for facilitating gospel conversations. These resources are also helpful for sharing the gospel in contexts where more explicit tools would not be allowed. They also have J316 wristbands containing all the colors needed to share the gospel. This serves as a reminder for kids who go through one of their sports camps and provide a good conversation starter in daily life.
J316 Ministries partners with many churches and mission organizations for soccer, basketball, and volleyball camps throughout the summer months. During the school year, they partner with local churches and organizations to run short clinics during events such as Saturday Street Soccer, Adopt-a-Block, and Ministry to the Homeless.
J316 Ministries also serves at IMG Academy as a volunteer chaplaincy program for student-athletes. Through this opportunity, they have the chance to impact athletes, as well as their coaches and staff. This impact lasts far longer than just their time at IMG but continues after they move on to their collegiate or professional careers.
Serve J316 Ministries – summer soccer clinic
This summer, we will be hosting another J316 Soccer Clinic. We will focus on kids in vulnerable families in Manatee and Sarasota Counties. It will be held at the church Thursday, June 1, and Friday, June 2, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. We need volunteers who will have fun and pour into these kids. Even if you don’t know soccer, you can still serve!
